The program focuses on small-group lessons as well as a full band experience for students surrounding the Bloomington campus.

It is a wonderful program. Many of our students have participated over the years. I can’t speak highly enough about this opportunity and the benefits of participating.

Young Winds will meet on Saturdays from 9 am to 11 am in the Musical Arts Center (MAC) on the IU campus.  The MAC is located on Jordan Avenue, one block north of 3rd Street. There is a $15 registration fee and $60 tuition fee.

Welcome Mr. Corbin –

We will welcome a new face to the BMS band Department. His name is Mr. Corbin and he will be student teaching in our program until May. Mr. Corbin has been completing a Degree at Indiana University and comes to us with a broad background in performance, repair and education. I am very excited to have Mr. Corbin as a member of our BMS Band family. He already shows tremendous promise and potential.

Fundraiser Money Due –

The cookie dough fundraiser and D.C. tumbler sale have come to an end and the money is due. The sales were a huge success, but now we have the job of collecting all the money. Thank you to all that helped with these projects. The cookie dough raised money for the band department and the tumblers helped the D.C. students pay for the Washington D.C. trip.

Congratulations BNL Pep Band –

Congratulations to the BNL Pep band for finishing in first place in Class AAAA at the Orleans Pep Band Invitational last weekend. You guys were great and I am so proud to see so many BMS Alumni participating.

Mr. Berger To Present At Upcoming Conference –

Mr. Berger will be presenting a clinic at the 2016 Indiana Music Educator’s Conference in Ft. Wayne. This is the third time Mr. Berger had been asked to present  at the state-wide conference. This a great honor for the BMS band program and demonstrates all the hard work and dedication taking place in the band building each day.

Have a great week!
