Congratulations IBA Honor Band  –

Congratulations to Jenna Blackwell (clarinet), Patrick Fields (tuba), Hallee Gabhart (clarinet), Madeleine Herold (french horn), Jackie Lane (flute), Olivia Leach (alto sax), Zoe Randolph (trumpet), Wyatt Scherschel (trumpet), and Journie Terrell (alto sax). You did an awesome job in the All-Region Honor Band Concert and represented our program very well. I am very proud of you.

Washington DC Update –

Students are able to create an account and start making payments for the Washington DC trip. The second payment was due November 11. The website is http://www.music-travel.com. There is a link on our site.

Here is the updated trip payment schedule:

Down payment due on October 9 and then payments on Nov. 11, Jan. 7, Feb.4, and a final balance on Feb.26.

Keep in mind students need to attend extra after-school or evening rehearsals in the spring and not receive any type of suspension or expulsion from school to be eligible to participate. The down payment is non-refundable.

DC Tumbler Sale –

The tumbler sale for the Washington DC students started Oct. 28 and ended Nov.10. $6 for each tumbler sold will go into the student’s Music Travel Account to offset the trip cost. The tumblers are supposed to arrive before Christmas Break. Money should be collected when the tumbler is delivered to the customer. Checks can be made out to BMS Bands.

ISSMA Solo and Ensemble –

It is time for our 7th and 8th grade band members to sign up for the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival. It will be held at Bloomington HS North on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016. It is a very educational and rewarding experience for band students to participate in. More information is available at the band office for those interested. This is not a required event. It will involve extra practice time and lessons so students need to give this some serious thought before committing. We do have a deadline of Dec. 2 to return forms.

6th Grade Band Concert Dec. 8 –

The 6th grade band will perform on December 8 in Schafer Auditorium. As always, our concerts are free and open to everyone. Students should dress appropriately for the event. Boys should wear nice pants and a dress shirt or sweater. Our young ladies wear a nice outfit or dress.

Have a great week!
