Congratulations to our IU Young Winds Participants –

Congratulations to Angelina Becker, Patrick Fields, and Jordan Strunk on a great performance at the I.U. Young Winds Concert last Saturday. I am very proud of you all and you represented the BMS Band very well. A big thank you goes out to you for your effort and to your parents for driving you to I.U. many times this spring.

BNL Marching Stars Information –

Marching Band sign-up forms and summer calendars are available in the band room for students interested in marching with the BNL Stars next year. I would love to see everyone march. I’ve already received a lot of forms and we have a lot of interest in this wonderful activity.

BNL Drumline –

The next BNL percussion meeting will be May 10 in the BNL Band room from 6-7:30 pm. This includes any of our 8th graders that plan to march with the BNL Marching Band next fall.

BNL Color Guard –

The BNL Color Guard will hold a teaching clinic in the BMS Gym on Monday, May 2 from 3:30 – 5:30. The auditions will be held at the BNL Gym on Sat. May 7th from 12 – 5. All 8th graders are welcome to come learn dance, movement, and how to spin flags. No previous experience is needed as the clinic will teach the necessary skills. Come try a new activity that helps you meet new friends.

Upcoming 7th & 8th Grade Concert –

The final concert for the band program is May 19. The 7th and 8th grade bands will perform in the BMS Schafer Auditorium. The concerts are free and all are welcome.

Elementary School Visits  –

I have made yearly visits to the elementary schools to see the 5th graders. It was a great opportunity to talk about signing up for band. Here is a link to the beginning band sign up form: https://bedfordmsband.com/beginning-band-sign-up-info/. We have a lot to offer here at BMS and the band program is a great way to get involved in our school.

Paige’s Music Display on Tuesday, May 10 –

Paige’s music will conduct an instrument display in the BMS Band Building on Tuesday, May 10. Feel free to stop by any time between 6:00 and 7:30 pm. You will have a chance to look over instruments, talk with Paige’s Music representatives, and even rent an instrument that evening. Feel free to visit the Paige’s Music Website at: http://www.paigesmusic.com.  All current band students and prospective band students are welcome.

Fundraising –

A few students have fundraising money out. We need to wrap those projects up before school lets out for the summer.

Have a great week!
