ISSMA Solo and Ensemble –

It is time for our 7th and 8th grade band members to sign up for the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Festival. It will be held at Bloomington North HS on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015. It is a very effective and rewarding experience for band students to participate in. More information is available at the band office for those interested. This is not a required event for periods 2,6, or 7. It will involve extra practice time and lessons so students need to give this some serious thought before committing. We do have a deadline of Dec. 3 to return forms.

Indiana University Young Winds –

The 2015 Indiana University Young Winds program begins Feb. 1, 2015. It is a program designed for middle school instrumental students as a supplement to the instruction they receive in school. The program focuses on small-group lessons as well as a full band experience for students surrounding the Bloomington campus. It is a wonderful program. Many of our students have participated over the years. I can’t speak highly enough about this opportunity and the benefits of participating. More information is available in the band building and at The program meets on Saturday mornings this spring and has a $15 registration fee and $75 program fee.

Cookie Dough Money Due –

The cookie dough fundraiser has come to an end and the money is now past due. The sale was a huge success, but now we have the job of collecting all the money. Thank you to all that helped with this project.
