BNL Bands Launch New Website –

The BNL Bands have launched a new and exciting website. BNL band members and parents can find the latest information on the BNL Band Program. Marching Band members can find links to the music they will be playing in this summer’s 4th of July Parade. Incoming freshman are asked to click the downloads link to access the fight song and parade music. This will give you a head start on rehearsals later this summer. Here is a link to the new website https://sites.google.com/site/bnlmarchingstarsorg/home.

Washington D.C. Trip Approved –

I am so excited to announce the Washington D.C. trip for spring break 2014 was approved. This trip will involve the 2013 – 14 7th and 8th grade band members. We will have an informational meeting when we return in the fall. Get a jump on the event and start saving a little money this summer. The 2012 trip was a great success and I look forward to a wonderful trip next spring.

Elementary School Visits Have Wrapped Up –

I enjoyed visiting our elementary schools and talking to the 5th graders. It was a great time to talk about signing up for band and I’ve had the chance to show them some of the band instruments and talk about our program. Here is a link to the beginning band sign up form: https://bedfordmsband.com/beginning-band-sign-up-info?.  Here is a link to our beginning band brochure: http://www.nlcs.k12.in.us/bedjrhi/Band/BMS%20Band%20Brochure%202012.13.pdf. We have a lot to offer here at BMS and the band program is a great way to get involved in our school. I also received a helpful link to information about selecting instruments and locating instruments. Here is that link http://conn-selmer.com/en-us/parents/. These forms can still be dropped off at the BMS office.

Year End Instrument Thoughts –

Paige’s customers may want to send the instrument in for maintenance and cleaning. If you have the maintenance agreement it is a free service. You can call Paige’s at 1-800-337-0471 to arrange an instrument pick-up, ask any questions or request a loaner. Paige’s can then ship the instrument back to you or deliver it to BNL or BMS.

Some that rented at Melody Music in Bloomington for the school year may have a return date coming up soon.

School instruments will be sent in for cleaning and maintenance over the summer.

All instruments that are not school instruments need to be taken home for the summer. It will be a good idea to get them out every few weeks to keep valves and slides moving.

Thanks for a great year!

I can’t believe another school year has come and gone. It was a terrific year and a lot of milestones were reached and goals were achieved. I am so proud of our students and so grateful to our parents, friends, neighbors, and supporters. I am surely blessed to have the chance to work with the BMS students each and every day. Good luck to our outgoing 8th graders. You will truly become the stars that make us proud. I also look forward to seeing our 6th and 7th grade return a summer older and can’t wait to welcome another fantastic group of 5th graders into our BMS Band family. Have a wonderful summer and know that a day won’t go by that I don’t think of you and look forward to the memorable year we will have together in 2013-14.

Have a great summer!
