What a great week. The kids are off to a terrific start. The 7th and 8th grade bands are playing and the 6th grade is getting settled in.
Beginning Band
The 6th grade woodwinds have instrumentation balanced out and can start locating instruments. The 6th grade brass are close. They have a few instrumentation balance issues to work on, but should be ready to start locating instruments next week. The 6th grade percussion auditions are underway and the results should be posted soon. It is still not too late to sign up for band and join. We also have a few school instruments available.
Washington D.C.
The Washington DC trip is coming along. We have over 90 students interested and over 30 adult chaperones. I’ll be in contact with the travel company to see what our options are and we’ll relay that information through the students and this website. It is a great opportunity for our students and program. Check out the links on this site for more information.
Open House
BMS is hosting an open house next Monday night on August 22. Feel free to stop and follow your child’s schedule for the evening. I’ll be around to discuss 6th grade instruments and the Washington trip for our 7th and 8th graders.
